Eddie Murphy drops cutest bombshell about becoming grandpa

Eddie Murphy's family grows as his son, Eric Murphy, and his wife, Jasmin Lawrence, welcome their first child, Ari Skyde.

The actor, known for his rib-tickling comedies, dropped the sweet bombshell out of the blue while attending the American Film Institute Achievement Award ceremony.

“They just had a baby girl. They just had her two weeks ago, or a week ago. Yeah, Ari Skye," the proud grandpa tells E! News.

A father of 10, Murphy has extensive experience in parenting, but he says he is not interested in giving advice.

“Oh, you don't give advice like that,” he shares, adding, “You know, your kids don't go by your advice."

Instead of advice, the Shrek star says to lead by example. "Your kids go by the example you set. They watch you.”

“The stuff you be saying, they don't even pay that s** no mind,” he jokes. “They watch and see what you do. So, I don't give a lot of advice.”

The new parents announced two months ago that they were expecting their first child together after marrying eight months ago.
