Britney Spears speaks out after shocking DUI arrest
Britney Spears was detained by the California Highway Patrol on March 4 on DUI charges in Ventura County
Britney Spears has finally broken the silence over her shocking DUI arrest.
The Toxic songstress' former personal assistant, Sean Phillips, recently appeared on the Good Morning Britain show, where he revealed that Britney had given him permission to speak on her behalf.
"All I texted her was: 'Are you OK” and she just said 'I’m OK'. I then asked if I could speak about this and she said: 'Go ahead,'" he began.
"She (Spears) is such a great person and we all make mistakes. I makes me feel bad when she suffers such public mistakes," said Sean, who worked for the pop star from 2006 to 2007.
‘The change I would like to see is for her to get out of Los Angeles. But I have been talking to her weekly, daily," he continued.
"I want the world to know she's a great person...We all make mistakes," added Sean. "She’s the same Britney that I knew in 2003. There is no dissociation with her that I have with her character and personality."
For the unversed, Britney was detained by the California Highway Patrol on Wednesday, March 4, on DUI charges in Ventura County.
As per the police, the 44-year-old singer was "driving erratically at a high rate of speed ... showed signs of impairment and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests."
"she was subsequently arrested for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 23152(g), driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol," added the law enforcement department.
Britney was later released on the morning of Thursday, March 5.
