Reid, who has Parkinson’s disease, said her symptoms have worsened in recent months, making it physically more difficult for her to write. She also explained that increased commitments following the premiere of the Heated Rivalry television adaptation have limited her writing time.

Unrivaled is the seventh instalment in Reid’s Game Changers series and the third book centred on Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. The popular enemies to lovers storyline has drawn a devoted readership since Heated Rivalry was first released.

Other novels in the Game Changers series follow different gay couples within the world of professional hockey.

Reid did not provide further details but thanked readers for their patience and support as she focuses on her health and writing process.
