'First Robert Carradine, now Katherine Short': Fans mourn back-to-back shocking losses

As the death of Robert Carradine grips fans in grief, they were dealt yet another shocking blow when Martin Short's rep announced the demise of the actor's adopted daughter, Katherine Short.

The statement read, "It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short."

"The Short family is devastated by this loss and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world."

A day earlier, Carradine's family released a similar devastating statement, stating, “It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle and brother Robert Carradine has passed away. In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon of light to everyone around him.”

"We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness. At this time we ask for the privacy to grieve this unfathomable loss. With gratitude for your understanding and compassion,” their statement noted.

Both deaths were due to suicide, which left their family and friends in total shock.
