Naomi Watt recalls daughter Kai slamming Met Gala dress in front of famed designer himself
Naomi Watt daughter Kai didn't hold back when criticizing famed designer's dress for her mom's Met Gala look
Naomi Watt’s daughter Kai is her reliable fashion critique.
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Watts revealed that her daughter likes to give advice on fashion even when she’s not asked for it.
"Fashion is a big topic in the household, especially now, and I take serious notes from her, whether "solicited or unsolicited."
The Watcher star recalled a time when Kai gave unsolicited advice on her Met Gala dress in front of designer Michael Kors.
In 2018, the actress had her pick out of two "beautiful" dresses by Kors and went with a 9,000 crystals ensemble despite Kai picking the other one.
“[Kai] just happened to FaceTime me on the way in the car with Mr. Michael Kors himself, and said, 'You wore the wrong dress.' For him to hear! And you know anyone with a creative bone in their body, they're very sensitive people. We're artists," the Goodnight Mommy star.
Kai’s modelling career is taking off and Watts has become "a bit of a momager."
"She’s extra young, but she’s got her head on, and it was a nice way for her to feel pride about what she’s doing," Watts said during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends in 2025. "It’s exciting and very much younger than we anticipated. But for Kai, we felt she was ready."
