Kate McKinnon gushes about Andrew Stanton directed movies
Kate McKinnon has revealed her most favourite Andrew Stanton movies
Kate McKinnon has heaped praise on Andrew Stanton, who directed her upcoming 2026 film In the Blink of an Eye.
The film follows “three storylines, spanning thousands of years, [that] intersect and reflect on hope, connection, and the circle of life,” according to its official description.
In a new chat with PEOPLE Magazine, McKinnon reflected on her longtime admiration for Stanton’s work, particularly his Pixar films.
“I’m a lifelong fan, absolutely,” McKinnon said of the acclaimed director.
“The themes of the stories that he tells, to me, the films are quasi-religious texts.”
The Saturday Night Live alum continued, “I mean, they contain an ancient wisdom. He is possessed of an ancient wisdom.”
“These are tales that speak about time, humanity, life itself. Absolutely. And this film was no exception,” McKinnon added, referring to their 2026 project.
Meanwhile, in another chat with TheWrap, she reflected on the upcoming flick by saying, “The whole of the human species has been cyclical. Things get bad, and then they get better, and then they get worse, and then they get better."
"And that’s just the nature of time, I guess,” she said.
“I think it’s hopeful to remember that there is hope. That there’s some spark of hope that things can come back around. I often forget in the day to day that that’s an option,” she reflected before conclusion.
