Meghan Markle receives new title for starting key trend

Meghan Markle has received a new informal title from royal fashion watchers after being credited with starting the modern diamond pinky ring trend.

The Duchess of Sussex got the recognition after a renewed discussion sparked by a viral social media video.

According to GB News, a royal blogger highlighted how Prince Harry’s wife was first seen wearing a bold diamond pinky ring in 2020.

Later on, the look gained popularity among celebrities, influencers and jewellery buyers, blogger @thismightbeashia noted.

The blogger asked her followers to share who they think first popularised diamond pinky rings and then claimed that it was Meghan who started the trend.

“I would definitely say that the person who started the diamond pinky ring trend would be none other than Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex,” she said.

“She was first seen with her diamond pinky ring made by Lorraine Schwartz back in 2020,” the blogger added.

She referred to Meghan’s ring, created by New York jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, who is popular with top Hollywood and fashion clients. The jewellery piece features a large emerald-cut diamond on a simple band.

The blogger further noted that the ring caused an “uproar” when Meghan’s picture first went viral wearing it.

“Meghan does have other diamond pinky rings and even a signet ring, but none have been quite as captivating or nearly as talked about as the Lorraine Schwartz pinky ring,” she added.
