Prince William faces fresh security scare after stalker trespasses palace twice

After a suspected stalker allegedly trespassed at Kensington Palace twice, Prince William and his family are facing new security concerns.

As per a report by Radaronline.com, the alleged stalker named Derek Egan, was arrested after he allegedly climbed the palace fence on December 21 and again on December 23.

The Met Police Royal and Specialist Protection Command detained Derek for the second time after he was released on police bail following the first trespassing.

The stalker has now been charged with two counts of trespassing and is being held in custody.

Kingston Palace is the primary residence of senior royals and staff and is also used as a residence by William and his wife Princess Kate as their London home.

Former head of the Met Police’s Royal and Specialist Protection branch, Dai Davies expressed his concern over the security breach saying, "The fact he repeated the offense after being given bail, given the nature of it, gives serious cause for concern."

"The police must work out what level of danger the Royal Family was in, and based on the charges, why on Earth he was given bail?"

Dai continued, "Any attempt to get into Kensington Palace needs careful investigation into the motive, any mental health concerns, and if the person is fixated on a royal."

He added: "If this person wasn't already on a list, he certainly will be now."
