King Charles gives royal honour to Prince William, Kate Middleton staff
The honours recognised the staff's contributions to the royal family
Two members working in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s staff get a royal honour directly from King Charles.
For their contributions, they were selected for the New Year's Honours list. The award’s first recipient is Lance Sergeant Scott Robin Bishop. He is a driver to the Prince and Princess of Wales.
His job includes driving the couple to and from official engagements, which, though it did not get much public attention, plays a key role in the pair's daily functioning.
To recognise his services, the Royal Victorian Medal was given to him, which Queen Elizabeth created in 1896.
The second in line to receive the award is Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo. She is a nanny to Willian and Kate’s three children. Trained at the prestigious Norland College, she has been caring for George, Louis and Charlotte since 2014.
In addition to the Waleses' staff, Charles also included the medical team in the award list, which was made public on Dec 29.
These include his eye surgeon, Professor Philip Anthony Bloom, travelling physician to Charles and Camilla, Professor Charles Deakin, and plastic surgeon Simon Eccles.
It is worth noting that they become Lieutenants of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO), a higher honour given to senior professionals.
