Prince George’s recent interaction with a stranger is receiving mixed comments.

The young Prince had an interaction with a 70-year-old man named John Loughrey outside St Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham, where where he was told late Granny, Princess Diana would he ‘proud of him.

Pouring into the situation, netizens share how the comment was inappropriate towards the young Royal.

"I'm sorry whoever said that to him, you crossed the line," one person commented on TikTok. "It's not your place to tell him what his late grandmother would have felt."

Another wrote on X: "As a monarchist I think this is appalling behavior. What would possess someone to say something like this?" A third person concurred, writing, "Totally agree. This is appropriate for immediate family but not for general public. It's so disrespectful and to be fair [he] doesn't know anything about Diana and what would have made her proud."

Meanwhile, a fifth added on TikTok: "It's embarrassing when people tell them 'Granny Diana would be proud,'" before pleading, "let her rest in peace!" Another commenter wrote, "I think it's a very weird thing to say to George."

This comes as Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: "People have different perceptions and memories of senior royals. As part of growing up, George will appreciate that what members of the public say, sometimes innocently, is often not predictable."

The royal commentator added" "This was obviously a comment made by an admirer of Diana and well intentioned."
