Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have just taken a major step in their plans for Archewell Foundation and are planning a name change.
News of this change has been shared in a piece for Express UK, by Rebecca Russell, Deputy Royal Editor.
What is pertinent to mention is that this name change will happen on the eve of the couple’s fifth anniversary since its inception.
The name that has been chosen rings similar to the original with a minute change at the end.
Moving forward the Archewell Foundation, will be renamed to Archewell Philanthropies.
For those still unversed with the foundations name, mission statement and history, on the official website it states the name Archewell is derived from the Greek word meaning “source of action” and Well meaning “plentiful source or supply; a place we go to dig deep”.
It is listed as a non-profit organization created by Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex. With a ‘simple’ mission.
On the website they have also written ,”we believe that philanthropy is not a handout; it’s a hand held. At The Archewell Foundation, we roll up our sleeves and do just that. We consciously partner with key organizations and leaders to identify immediate needs, build meaningful initiatives, and drive long-term change. We are committed to uncovering and resolving the root causes of issues, prioritizing lasting solutions over temporary fixes.”
They also added, “Our work is underpinned by the core belief that mental health and our collective wellbeing are paramount. We prioritize solutions that consider families, youth, race and gender, and strive to find the joy and hope we all share for the future.”
