Meghan Markle has made it clear that any meeting with her father, Thomas Markle, is unlikely to happen, according to sources.
An insider told Radar Online that the Duchess of Sussex has set conditions which are difficult for him to meet.
The 81-year-old, who recently had a leg amputated while hospitalized in the Philippines, would need to travel to see her, which insiders describe as nearly impossible.
The insider said that it is "very sad when a daughter can't just call or visit her dad," before taking a dig at Meghan, saying, "Reaching out by letter must be some comfort to him while he is in hospital."
"Meghan is saying if there is to be a reunion with her dad, he will have to travel to her – something of a practical impossibility now he is 81 and has only one leg," they added.
"She has also said she will need written reassurances and a promise he will never talk about it, which is also a huge ask of any parent, and an insult.
"These two conditions mean she is very unlikely to ever meet her dad again – which, sadly, is what she wants. Her conditions are just an excuse engineered so it never happens."
Meghan and her father have been estranged since 2018, after it emerged that Thomas staged paparazzi photos before Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry.
