Queen Camilla takes major step to welcome Prince Harry, Meghan Markle back
Queen Camilla seemingly sends olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle amid royal family feud
Queen Camilla appeared to have sent an olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with an insider saying that she is ready to welcome them back into the royal family fold.
The Queen Consort sent a hint that she has moved on from the hurt the Duke of Sussex caused her with a photo of Meghan and Charles displayed prominently at a Clarence House tea party.
The glimpses of the event, hosted by Camilla and Santa Claus and featured children from charities supported by the royal family, were shared in an Instagram post.
Speaking on it, royal expert Richard Eden suggested the photo's placement is part of "Project Thaw," aimed at rebuilding relations with the Sussexes.
Echoing the same sentiments, a source told Woman’s Day that Camilla was initially reluctant but she has decided to be on board with the plan.
“This is what Charles wants but it’s not easy for her, nor is it something she particularly wants to do,” the royal source said.
They continued, “But she knows she’s not the only one who will have to move forward from several very serious hurts should Harry and Meghan return back into the fold.
“This is her way of sending an olive branch to Harry and Meghan and personally letting them know she considered them ‘family.'
“Camilla is willing to forgive, but she will never forget what was said in ‘Spare’ – and the pain they caused in the lead-up to the Queen’s death."
The source further shared that Camilla is "willing to let things go – for now – because even she knows how happy it will make Charles to have Harry back home – and even more important to bond with his long-lost grandchildren.”
