Palace releases message of thanks amid Earl Spencer's new claims

The palace has released a message of thanks hours after Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer made new claims in the latest interview.

Earl Spencer fired back at Palace after the royal household questioned his recollection of a conversation with King Charles, saying he was being "gaslit" by the monarch.

During an interview with The Mail on Sunday, he took issue with the palace's response.

Spencer said, "It is not every day you wake up to find you've been gaslit by the king.

"It was astonishingly provocative and below the belt because it was essentially trying to say I'd lied without the King being able to deny what I'd said."

Hours after Earl Spencer’s latest interview, the royal family shared a video of Duchess Sophie, and said, “Thank you to everyone who welcomed The Duchess of Edinburgh to Zambia!”

The Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Republic of Zambia, from Monday 14th September to Friday 19th September, to celebrate the relationship between Zambia and the UK.

Sophie’s programme highlights shared interests, including gender equality, climate and nature, and education and research partnerships.

Commenting on the post, one fan said, “‪Lovely video of The Duchess in Zambia. She’s always so kind with everyone she meets during these foreign visits.”

“She is so great I can see why the Queen loved her so much,” the other said.
