King Charles is said to be considering inviting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to celebrate Christmas with him and the royal family amid fears that it could be his last time to mark the holiday season with both his sons.
According to Radar Online, the monarch has not fully rule out the possibility of sending an invite to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
An insider said that even though Charles confirmed he will scale back treatment in the new year, he fears it could be his last Christmas.
"An invitation to Prince Harry has not been completely ruled out if the king truly wants to spend time with his immediate family,” the source said.
“There has always been a sense that the emotional door was never fully closed,” they continued.
“After such a turbulent year, particularly given the king's health and the continuing repercussions from dealing with Prince Andrew, it is understandable that Charles would want this Christmas to carry deeper meaning.
"And despite his positive cancer updates, he knows if things take a turn for the worse, it could be his last Christmas,” the insider added.
Another source noted that people close to Charles are sensing that he is “being guided more by his own mortality than by royal protocol.”
"Some believe this could be the last Christmas where he feels well enough to bring the whole family together, which is why there is quiet speculation he may attempt to draw Harry and Meghan back in, even if only for a short time."
