Meghan Markle under fire over bizarre attempt to contact sick father

Meghan Markle is being criticised for her bizarre attempts to reach out sick dad.

Thomas Markle, estranged father of the Duchess of Sussex is recovering from a leg amputation in the Philippines.

However, Meghan, who hasn't had a personal contact with Thomas since her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, is keen to have handwritten note delivered to her dad.

While the exact whereabouts of Thomas' treatment have not been confirmed, the team of Meghan claimed to have repeatedly telephoned medical facilities in the region to relocate him.

But, one facility has claimed that there has been no record of a call from Meghan.

An insider told Radar Online, "Mr. Markle is a VIP patient. Of course we all know who he is. If Meghan or anyone connected with her had called here we would have known. It is a big hospital by Filipino standards but we all know each other and we all talk."

Adding, "We were all confused when we saw the story that the Duchess had reached out to her dad. As far as we are aware it didn't happen. We would love to see the Duchess here in the Philippines!"

The Duchess of Sussex's efforts have been labelled as "performative" with a source stating that "this makes no sense."

As per the sources, anyone in Meghan's positive and "with her money, her platform, her global network" would have gotten "n a plane, speak directly to relatives who know exactly where he is, and go see him."

"This long-distance guessing game feels performative, and people close to Thomas find it baffling and mind-blowing," they added.

Notably, there are family members by Thomas Markle's side in the hospital. Therefore, if Meghan Markle "truly wanted contact, she knows exactly who to call."

The source said that watching the Duchess of Sussex reaching out through hospitals is "just strange."
