Prince Harry’s security win for Archie, Lilibet & Meghan sparks something new

Prince Harry has just received strong defense in the form of former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond because she just penned a piece for The i Paper where she highlighted how important it is to offer protection to the King’s son, when people with a much shorter tenure, in the public eye are also provided with taxpayer-funded security.

Her piece began with the same thought process and saw her write “security is offered to a former prime minister who served barely any longer than a lettuce takes to wilt, then surely the son of the King deserves the same?”

Because “Prince Harry is asking for the Metropolitan Police to protect him and (if he were to bring them) his family on occasional visits to the UK,” she notes. Also “it does not seem an unreasonable request,” because “he cannot change the fact that he is the King’s son.”

In the piece she also highlighted how deep the fear factor of security goes into Prince Harry’s prospects for future reconciliation efforts with the King and his brother because “we now know that the issue of security lies at the very heart of Harry’s estrangement from his UK family.”

A bit later she also added that “if he (Harry) gets his wish and his security is restored when he is in the UK, it could pave the way to a family reunion.” Plus “there’s no doubt that our elderly King would love to see his grandchildren. And, for all the bitterness of recent years, he still loves his youngest son, his 'darling boy'.

Near the end she also lauded his efforts, and branded them sincere when she added, “dor his part, I think the Prince is sincere when he talks about wanting his children to know and understand their heritage.”

Not to mention “he has said publicly that he wants his father and his brother back in his life,” for those unversed. So while “that may still be some way off – particularly where William is concerned – but if he can at least feel he can bring his family here safely, there has to be some hope of reconciliation,” she said before signing off.
