Miley Cyrus breaks silence on Maxx Morando engagement news
Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando sparked engagement rumors at ' Avatar: Fire and Ash'
Miley Cyrus is on cloud nine after her engagement to Maxx Morando.
Miley and Maxx’s engagement was confirmed on Tuesday, December 2, after they sparked rumors while attending the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, where the singer sported a chunky gold ring with a cushion-cut diamond.
The Flowers hitmaker talked about the engagement for the first time during an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Host Chris Connelly congratulated her over the release of her new song from the soundtrack for Avatar: Fire and Ash, and asked whether "more congratulations" were in order for her engagement.
The Grammy winner replied, "Yes, there’s more congrats."
The 33-year-old shared that Maxx, 27, popped the question in the traditional manner and even managed to surprise her.
"I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered," she shared. "And I’m telling you, I was so, so, so surprised."
Miley also praised her fiancé’s choice of the ring.
Elsewhere in the interview, she gushed over how the big step in their relationship aligned with her new song, Dream as One.
"Those two things kind of, I guess you could say, marrying each other and harmonizing with each other," she said.
"People think of it as a film, it’s larger than life, it’s grand scale, but actually at the heart of Avatar, it’s really about relationships, love, having each other’s back, so it actually felt very aligned with my life," she explained.
Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando have been dating since 2021.
