Dominic McLaughlin reacts to OG Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe's message
'Harry Potter' star Dominic McLaughlin got a special message from his predecessor Daniel Radcliffe
HBO‘s upcoming Harry Potter series’ star Dominic McLaughlin has reacted to a letter the original Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, wrote to him.
McLaughlin will play the titular wizard protagonist in the upcoming series and was filming the first season this summer. The actor revealed that his dad handed him Daniel’s letter while they were on a train home to Glasgow.
"It was insane," he beamed.
"My Dad tapped me on the train and just gave me this letter," he revealed during an appearance on the BBC show Saturday Mash-Up! Live. "I read it and then I got to the bottom, and it said, ‘Dan R.’ I was going mad, but I had to [keep cool]. I was on the train."
When asked how filming for the first season was going, he replied, "It’s going amazing, it’s going really well. I’ve made good friends with everyone, it’s great to be there."
This comes after Daniel revealed last month that he had written a letter to McLaughlin.
"I just see these pictures of him and the other kids and I just want to hug them," The Woman in Black star said. "They just seem so young. I just look at them and say, ‘Oh it’s crazy I was doing that at that age.’ But it’s also incredibly sweet, and I hope they’re having a great time."
Alongside McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton play Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in the upcoming series, respectively.
