King Charles celebrated a special victory secured by a meaningful project which came into being to 'tackle food waste and reduce hunger.'
On November 19, a joint Instagram post by the royal family and King Charles Fund shared that the Coronation Food Project, inspired by the monarch's vision, has marked its two-year anniversary.
The initiative has been working with "partners @thefelixproject, @fareshareuk and the Institute of Grocery Distribution" to fulfil the gap between food waste and food need across the UK.
Speaking of the milestones achieved by Coronation Food Project, King Charles' team shared that "50 food businesses have come together to find new ways to ensure frontline charities have a regular supply of food, unlocking 11 million meals."
Moreover, three "Coronation Food Hubs have been opened in Birmingham, Merseyside, and London, helping to get more food to people in need by boosting infrastructure and capacity."
"£900,000 in grants has been awarded, supporting grassroots efforts to tackle food waste and help those facing food insecurity."
It is important to note that King Charles today stepped out in London to commemorate the second anniversary of his Coronation Food Project, which was launched in 2023.
He was photographed at Fortnum & Mason as part of his mission to reduce food waste and support those in need.
