Sabrina Carpenter's 'Alice in Wonderland' musical gets fresh update
Sabrina Carpenter has been trying to make the project for five years
Sabrina Carpenter will be starring in the movie musical of Alice in Wonderland.
Following the announcement, not much details were revealed by the makers.
Recently, Wicked producer Marc Platt, who will be directing the musical, has shared some details about the upcoming project.
Platt opened about the fresh movie at the New York premiere of Jon M. Chu’s directorial and it is nothing what fans might expecting it to be.
The producer revealed that Alice in Wonderland starring Sabrina is in the "beginning stages".
In a statement, he added, “It’s an idea that Sabrina‘s had and so we’re just in the beginning stages.”
Platt told Variety, “It’s a contemporary story with an allegory to and based loosely on Alice In Wonderland.”
The 68-year-old, who himself is a fan of Carpenter, said that he loves her music and thought she was just smart and articulate for the role.
As he sat and discussed the venture with the Espresso singer, he instantly thought to take a shot at it.
He said, “Like the journey that Alice goes on in the Lewis Carroll book, and so I said, ‘Let’s take a shot at it.’ So, we’re early days.”
Alice in Wonderland musical is written and will be directed by the Hustlers writer and director, Lorene Scafaria.
Reportedly, Sabrina had been trying to make this project since five years.
