White House South Lawn opens for Halloween celebration, welcomes trick-or-treaters

The White House under Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump got into Halloween spirit and opened the South Lawn to welcome thousands of trick-or-treaters of all ages.

A White House press release showed that children and their parents were invited to participate in the distinct trick-or-treat booths and seasonal decorations on the South Portico.

Following the event, the decor included fall leaves and a wide variety of jack-o-lanterns as the president and the first lady were in high spirits to hand out commemorative candies on the South Drive.

The White House press release further showed the specific musical arrangements made to captivate the attention of attendees at the Halloween celebration.

To make the ceremony more exciting, the National Confectioners Association has provided sweet treats, while the International Fresh Produce Association supplied Washington state and New York apples.

According to the White House, the event also incorporates participation and treats by America 250, NASA, the National Park Service, the U.S. Secret Service, the White House Historical Association, and the Center of Science and Industry.
