Meghan Markle faces fresh setback after dropping new launch: ‘royal tax’

Meghan Markle kicked off her holiday season with a delightful announcement for her fans, bringing out a range of festive products from her lifestyle brand.

The As Ever founder unveiled the collection on Tuesday, showcasing the some new additions and brought back some old for her followers.

However, the launch seemingly did not meet the same zeal that the Duchess of Sussex had hoped for as some of the products were deemed too expensive. As reviews for the range poured in, one celebrity chef did not hold back on his review for Meghan’s latest move.

Renowned celebrity chef Jameson Stocks dubbed it “utterly disgraceful and shameful” that Meghan was charging “royal tax” for the honey and candles.

“While it’s understandable that everyone needs to make a profit, there’s a clear difference between earning a fair margin and exploiting customers,” he told Express.co.uk. “I’d recommend shopping elsewhere where you can find honey for a fraction of the price without the royal tax.”

He pointed out that it is unclear if customers are buying the products because they are genuinely interested or are just looking for an investment “simply hoping their value will increase over time due to the limited numbers available”.

The chef surmised that Meghan is “taking advantage of people, and those who surround her with misguided advice should feel ashamed as well”.
