Kate Middleton, who underwent a difficult cancer battle last year, has made a firm decision after wrapping up the important State Banquet for French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Mrs Macron.
Previously, Kensington Palace had revealed that the Princess of Wales will be scaling back her public appearance despite being in remission. While Kate had been making more frequent appearances, concerns rippled after she had skipped the Royal Ascot last month.
On Tuesday, the future Queen, after the full-pomp welcome for the French dignitaries, made a stunning appearance at the State Banquet at Windsor Castle. She was dressed in a vibrant caped red silk gown designed by Sarah Burton for Givenchy. She also wore Diana’s favourite Lover’s Knot tiara.
Insiders now reveal that Kate has made a firm decision about her upcoming public engagements following the important State Visit for King Charles.
“There are a couple of key events in the diary before some time is blocked off,” the source told Closer Magazine. “But discussions are currently taking the place about whether Kate should attend. A call will be made nearer time, or even on the day,”
Kate is still expected to show up Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Prince William is stepping up so that Kate could take the break she needs.
The sources stressed that not everyone in the Firm wants to push Kate given her health struggles.
“Kate is pivotal to the monarchy. She’s extremely popular with the British public,” they added. “She’ll be given all the time she needs to rest and recharge, because there’s certainly a long road ahead – and they can’t do it without her.”
The update comes after Kate got candid about her health struggles following remission.
“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment, treatments done, then it's like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,” Kate said during a hospital visit last week.
“You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.”
