Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan to join hands after 2008's 'Tashan'
Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are reuniting on the big screen for Priyadarshan’s film Haiwaan after 17 years.
The Tashan duo, who garnered recognition for their roles in the 2008 action-comedy, are set to collaborate on the upcoming thriller.
A source close to the development, shared, “The team felt this describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it – as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. There were other titles in contention, but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play.”
Reflecting on the chemistry between the Sooryavanshi actor and the Race star, Hindustan Times reported, “Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed working with each other and admired each other’s work. The moment they read the script, they knew they were on board.”
The 57-year-old actor, who was last seen in Housefull 5 and Kesari Chapter 2, is also working on Priyadarshan’s much-anticipated sequel Hera Pheri 3.
Meanwhile, the Kal Ho Naa Ho star recently appeared in his Netflix hit Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins and is also gearing up for Race 4 and Devara – Part 2.
Notably, Akshay and Saif, 54, have previously collaborated on several hit projects, including Mai Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), and Keemat (1998).
For the unversed, the upcoming film is expected to go on the floors in August 2025, with a grand release planned for 2026.
