Aamir Khan recently took a trip down memory lane and opened up about his mental health following his separation from first wife, Reena Dutta.
The Dangal actor, known for his versatile performances in numerous acclaimed projects, shared how some of his fellow stars supported him during this difficult period.
In an exclusive conversation with Lallantop, the 60-year-old star said, "When there was no one at home and I was feeling lonely, I did not know what to do. So that day I opened the bottle and drank the whole bottle and then for the next half year…, every night after drinking I would not sleep, I would faint."
Despite differences with his Qayamat se Qayamat Tak co-star, Chawla, the PK actor revealed that she reached out and played a pivotal role in supporting him.
"Out of the blue, I got a call from Juhi. She said I want to come and meet you. I was like, 'I haven't spoken to Juhi in seven years' (laughs). I said Come. She came to my house and said that she had read in the paper that you and Reena had broken up and were living separately," he continued. "I said yes. She said this is very wrong, whatever has happened, I don't want to hear it, but you should go and patch up.
Alongside the Ishq actress, Aamir shared that Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor also used to visit him regularly, helping him cope with feelings of isolation.
On the professional front, the 3 idiots star recently released his latest project, Sitaare Zameen Par, a sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par.
For the unversed, Aamir and Dutta parted ways in 2002 after 16 years of marriage.
