Meghan Markle 'likely to distance herself' from Tyler Perry amid lawsuit scandal
Meghan Markle may cut ties with Tyler Perry following assault accusations
Meghan Markle is expected to distance herself from longtime friend Tyler Perry following shocking sexual and harassment allegations filed against him earlier this week, according to royal experts.
Perry famously offered his $18 million Beverly Hills mansion to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they made a bold decision of stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
He also holds special role of godfather to their daughter, Lilibet-something royal expert Hugo Vickers believes signified a strong bond between the two.
Earlier this week, fellow actor Derek Dixon filed a lawsuit accusing Perry of sexual assault and harassment, claims that Perry's team has finally dismissed as a 'scam.'
Now, royal commentators predict that Meghan will sever ties with Perry in light of the serious accusations.
During an appearance on The Sun Royal Exclusive show, expert Samara Gill commented that the allegations could harm the Sussex's public image.
She remarked: 'I think it shows the type of people that Meghan likes to surround herself with and I think it is damaging to their brand yet again because he was meant to be their closest friend.'
Gilla also noted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex benefited from Perry's generosity including the use of his home and private jet when they relocated from the UK in 2020.
However, she believes the couple will now be eager to create distance between themselves and Perry amid the controversy.
The lawsuit seeks $260 million in damages, alleging harassment that spanned several years.
