Prince William appears to have taken a firm stance for his wife Kate Middleton as he follows the approach of his father King Charles in a bid to deal with a major issue.
The Prince of Wales, who has been estranged from his brother Prince Harry since nearly three years, is reportedly unwilling to forgive him but not because of what he wrote about him. Despite the rift between the siblings, the future king is more upset about Kate getting hit in the crossfire.
Just like how protective King Charles is about his ‘darling wife’ Queen Camilla, William is hurt by how Harry has been treating Kate, who once shared a loving bond with her brother-in-law, according to royal commentator, Kinsey Schofield.
“[William’s] pain doesn’t come from personal insults or headlines. It comes from his instinct to protect the woman he loves,” she told Fox News Digital. “But what cuts the deepest is Harry’s treatment of Catherine.”
She explained, “She’s always loved him, always treated him like a little brother. That’s the betrayal William won’t forget… But Harry never seems to think about the consequences.”
It was previously reported that the Princess of Wales is acting as mediator between Harry and William but according to Kinsey, the future Queen supports her husband’s decisions in the royal rift.
“Catherine has been nothing but supportive of her husband – and that’s exactly why Prince William is so deeply hurt,” she told the outlet.
Prince Harry laid bare his sibling rivalry in his bombshell memoir, Spare, in 2023, and even mentioned anecdotes indicating the icy relations between Kate and Meghan.
Kinsey noted, “William can take the punches Harry throws at him – the dog bowl, the breaking of Harry’s necklace – trivial… [But] Harry effectively sent the online mob after William and Catherine… [And] Catherine has had a tough two years between cancer and this ongoing drama.”
However, it was the mention of Queen Camilla and Harry labelling her as the ‘evil stepmother’ and ‘villain’ which kicked him out of his Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, according to royal sources at the time.
It seems just like Charles; William is also following the footsteps of his father when it comes to protecting his wife.
