The historical drama, which revolves around the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, has been describes as powerful and sluggish both.
Karan Singh Dyagi’s directorial has earned over ₹7 on its opening day.
The Sooryavanshi actor has been featured as lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, who takes a stand against the British Empire after the 1919 incident.
R. Madhavan, on the contrary, has taken on the role of Neville McKinley, the opposing counsel to Akshay, 57.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday has thrilled viewers with the serious portrayal of Dilreet Gill.
The Dharma film has sparked a range of responses, with some calling it a masterpiece while others considering the Khel Khel Mein star a “miscast”.
On fan wrote, “old wine in a new bottle.”
