Prince Harry receives crucial update from legal team about security case
Prince Harry legal team delight Duke of Sussex with important findings: source reveals
Prince Harry is expecting to receive a verdict on his appeal for police protection in the UK following his two-day legal proceedings last week in his home country.
While the outcome is expected to arrive in the coming weeks, there are speculations surrounding on how the case went for the Duke of Sussex, especially after his disillusioned remarks in the interview that followed.
King Charles’ younger son was stripped off of his police protection after he stepped down from his senior working royal position in 2020 with his wife Meghan Markle.
Harry’s lawyer, Shaheed Fatima KC, argued that Harry’s “life is at stake” after disclosing that he received murder threats from terror organisation.
Following the court hearings in London, Harry expressed that his “worst fears” were “confirmed” and he was left feeling “exhausted and overwhelmed” by the case.
This is the third time Harry had filed a lawsuit to gain his security after the government’s RAVEC committee decided to make “bespoke” arrangements for Harry and his family, on a “case-by-case” arrangement.
However, new reports suggest that this Harry might finally have the decision swing in his way as the decision in still under contemplation.
According to a source close to Harry’s camp, cited by People Magazine, the legal team is “cautiously optimistic” about the outcome.
Meanwhile, a report in The Times stated that the losing side will be hit with a bill of about $1.9 million.
Prince Harry’s security concerns stem in part from his military service. The Duke wrote about his kill count in his memoir, Spare, which reportedly drew attention from extremist groups and put his security further at risk.
The prolonged deliberation over the verdict could suggest that the crucial evidence is being mulled over extensively. While King Charles involvement has been dismissed by royal experts and palace sources, it remains to be seen if third time is a charm for Prince Harry.
