Soha Ali Khan candidly spoke about how she feels regarding social media trolling over her interfaith marriage with Kunal Kemmu.
The Indian actress, who is also the younger sister of Saif Ali Khan, broke silence on comments that inquire about her religious beliefs.
During an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Soha, 41, opened up about negative remarks she has received since marrying Kunal, saying she is now used to them.
Speaking to the outlet, she said, “I’ve gotten a bit of thick-skinned; it doesn’t bother me. But one thing that amuses me is how, when I post something, people start commenting about my religion. Because I have married into a Hindu family, my mother has a Hindu surname, and she married a Muslim man. Usually, if we post something on Diwali, they ask how many rozas have you kept, if we post on Holi, comments are reading what kind of Muslim you are? It doesn’t bother me, but it is something that I do notice. We get happiness by bitching about people.
Later in the interview, the Rang De Basanti actress also shed light on the criticism her family has faced.
She revealed that her mother was asked how her husband allowed her to pursue acting, as it’s considered an unsuitable profession for “good girls”.
On the professional front, Soha recently worked in Vishal Furia’s directorial, Chhorii 2.
The Tum Mile star and Kunal decided to marry after working together in the film Dhoondte Reh Jaoge.
The couple tied knot on January 25, 2015, and welcomed their daughter, Innaya Naumi Kemmu, in September 2017.
