Elton John, who is married to David Furnish, has marked a major milestones as one of his greatest hits collection reached number one on the UK charts.
This career-spanning album Diamonds, which includes iconic tracks like Tiny Dancer, I'm Still Standing, and Rocket Man, has earned the legendary musician his ninth number one album at the age of 77.
"I'm so excited and thrilled that Diamonds is the number one album in the UK this week," Elton John said.
"What a great start to the new year. I could not be happier."
The album, which originally released in 2017, has been a consistent presence on the charts.
As per the reports, It saw a surge in sales last week, following a re-release in a super deluxe edition, which includes Blu-ray, cassette, and diamond-effect vinyl versions.
Additionally, Elton John's streaming numbers have spiked, partly due to the success of the Disney+ documentary Never Too Late, which premiered last month.
The film, co-directed by John’s husband David Furnish, offers an intimate look at his life and career, including his struggles with addiction, fatherhood, and the conclusion of his farewell tour in 2023.
On the work front, Diamonds has spent more weeks on the chart than any other Elton John album and has now sold over 1.5 million copies in the UK.
It also became number one in a relatively quiet week for new releases, aided by a lack of major new entries into the Top 10.
