Prince Harry’s beloved initiative hit with major setback
Prince Harry receives bad news after he returns from high-profile solo New York visit
Prince Harry received some bad news as he returned from his solo visit in New York to attending a high-profile summit.
The Duke of Sussex, who is passionate about his charity work, was delivered a big blow from his most cherished charity in South African continent after hold a special event for it.
Harry founded Sentebale with Prince Seeiso in 2006 to support vulnerable children in Southern Africa affected by HIV/AIDS. After hosting a posh fund-raising art exhibition, Friend (A Survey of Op Art & Minimalism), in NYC last week, Harry lost a key member of the team, per Daily Mail’s royal correspondent.
Richard Miller, the chief executive of Sentabale, quit his position after five years, reported Richard Eden.
“Behind the scenes, there have been major changes going on at the organisation,” Eden wrote in the outlet. “[Miller’s] departure follows that of Baroness Chalker, the overseas development minister, who stepped down as a director last month.”
Eden revealed that Miller will be replaced by an interim executive director, Carmel Gaillard, who is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She has been asked to deliver a “strategic transformation” of the charity.
According to a statement issued by the Sussex office in October, during Harry’s solo trip to Lesotho, the Prince “holds a special place in his heart for this nation, particularly through his work with Sentebale.”
