Priyanka Chopra pens touching note for father Ashok on his death anniversary

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra commemorated her father Ashok on his death anniversary.

On Monday, the 41-year-old actress took to her Instagram to honor her father Ashok's memory on his death anniversary by sharing a heartfelt reel accompanied by an emotional note.

The video begins with Ashok singing Sawan ke mahine mein on stage, evoking nostalgic memories.

It further showcases precious moments from her upbringing, including gatherings, vacations, and celebrations with her family. 

The Dostana actress penned for her late father, "The light of every room. You’re still our brightest light dad. 11 years without you and it still doesn’t feel real. Thinking of you today and everyday. I love you. Forever."

For the unversed, Priyanka's father battled cancer for several years before his passing in 2013.

During an interview, she acknowledged feeling his absence keenly during her wedding to pop star Nick Jonas in 2018.

She told to Zoom, "I was getting married and I missed my dad so much at that time. I missed his presence so much knowing that my mom would be doing it all alone."

"When it was all that my dad wanted and would keep saying ‘Main suit kab silwaau, main suit kab silwaau’. It was very prevalent in my brain at that time and this definitely help me heal."
