Google Photos: Find specific photos in a snap with ‘Ask Photos’
Google’s ‘Ask Photos’ makes photo search easier than ever
Google is getting a new feature called Ask Photos that makes it super easy to find specific photos and information in your library.
The new feature employs Google's updated Gemini model. Google uses advanced Artificial Intelligence technology to understand what you are looking for.
Google announced the new feature at the Google I/O 2024 event.
So, now it will be easier for you to search for specific photos and videos in your Google Photos library.
If you are looking for specific items in your Google Photos, it previously required you to scroll through many files. However, the new Ask Photos feature will simplify this process. For example, if you need to find your car's license plate number in a photo, Ask Photo will do it for you. You do not have to search for it manually.
Speaking at the event, Google CEO Sundar Pichai says, "It knows the cars that appear often, it triangulates which one is yours, and just tells you the license plate number."
Ask Photos can also create collections of memories. For instance, if you want to see how Lucia's swimming has progressed, Ask Photos will filter all related photos, including her swimming at a young age, her swimming certificates, and her swimming at different locations like the beach or a water park.
Google is going to roll out the feature this summer.
