Apple to unveil new iPad tablets at live event today
Apple has been secretive, but rumours suggest two exciting updates, i.e. a new OLED iPad Pro and an upgraded iPad Air
Apple will host an exciting live event to reveal its latest lineup of tablets today.
The event, called "Let Loose," will take place at 10am ET today. You can watch the live event on YouTube, the company's website, or the Apple TV+ app.
What do you expect from Apple from today's event?
It is all about tablets today. The company has been secretive, but rumours suggest two exciting updates, i.e. a new OLED iPad Pro and an upgraded iPad Air.
The iPad Pro is generating a lot of buzz these days. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman hints that it might skip the M3 chipset and instead feature the next-gen M4. Apple is branding it as their "first truly AI-powered device."
The iPad Pro will likely sport an OLED display, promising richer colours and deeper blacks. OLED panels are thinner than LCDs. So, this iPad will be sleeker and stylish. People are saying that the iPad Pro will have a glass back for MagSafe charging.
As regards the iPad Air, there have been two years since the last refresh, which feels like a lifetime in tech. While it will not have the fancy next-gen chipset or OLED display, it could get an upgrade to the M2 chip.
The current models still use the older M1. There are also reports that the front-facing camera might shift to the landscape edge.
There are rumours in the air that Apple is prepping the first 12.9-inch iPad Air.
Apple is not stopping at iPads at the event as they will unveil new accessories too for iPad. You may expect a revamped Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro line, possibly made from aluminium.
Apple is also expected to launch the second-gen Apple Pencil. Rumours say it might work with Vision Pro drawing apps alongside regular tablet apps.
