Sahiba Bali talks about first interaction with Chamkila co-star Diljit Dosanjh
Amar Singh Chamkila is currently streaming on Netflix worldwide
Sahiba Bali, who portrayed the role of journalist in Amar Singh Chamkila, opened up about her experience of sharing the screen with the lead star Diljit Dosanjh.
In conversation with Connect FM Canada, the actress revealed that it was great working with the Punjabi singer-actor as she was already a huge fan of his craft.
She said, "Since years, I’ve been a huge Diljit fan. On the day that we were shooting this, I was extremely excited about finally meeting him and talking to him."
Sahiba recalled, "He’s flamboyant, humorous, has so much energy. But I was on set, sitting next to a co-actor, looking around, waiting for Diljit to arrive with a bang."
The actress added, "I didn’t realise that the co-actor sitting next to me for the past half an hour was actually Diljit."
She shared that Diljit "was so quiet and he was so zen. He was in his zone. He was just sitting quietly, waiting for the shot. And then I realised he was Diljit, so I started talking to him."
Sahiba said that the Good Newwz actor was in a meditative state. "He disciplined and focused. I couldn’t believe it was the same Diljit, the singer and the performer."
For the unversed, Imtiaz Ali recently directed the film titled Amar Singh Chamkila, a biopic based on the tragic murder of the renowned Punjabi singer and his wife.
The movie featured Diljit as the late singer, whereas Parineeti Chopra portrayed the role of his wife, Amarjot.
