Al-Nassr FC and Al-Feiha FC will play a Saudi Pro League 2023–24 match at the Al-Awwal Stadium in Riyadh on Friday 8:30pm IST, but fans would not be able to see Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al Nassr's captain Cristiano Ronaldo will not play in the match after receiving his first red card in Saudi Arabia during his team's 2-1 Saudi Super Cup semifinal loss against Al-Hilal, according to Sportstar.
After Salem Aldawsari and Malcom gave Hilal the lead with goals in the second half of the game, Ronaldo was sent off in the 86th minute for elbowing Al-Hilal player Ali Albulayhi.
Al-Nassr's chances of winning something this year were dashed as they were eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup despite a late goal by Sadio Mane.
The Riyadh-based club was eliminated from the AFC Champions League quarter-final last month after losing on penalties. With just seven games remaining, it is currently 12 points behind league leader Al-Hilal.
Given that Ronaldo is unable to play in this match, it will be intriguing to watch who the coach starts opposite Al Majma’ah-based Al-Feiha, in his place.
