Prince Harry major security steps for Archie, Lilibet revealed

Prince Harry retroactively established his US residency after losing the "sole sanctuary" he felt he had in the UK to bring his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

After resigning as senior royals in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the US.

While they retained Frogmore Cottage as their UK residence for a period, King Charles ordered their eviction from the royal property in 2023.

According to The Telegraph, Harry and Meghan viewed Frogmore Cottage as the "only place that’s left as a safe space" for them and their children in the UK.

The couple had barely stayed at the property as they live in a Californian mansion in Montecito with their two children.

On Wednesday, Documents submitted to Companies House in the UK show that the Duke of Sussex amended his filings for Travalyst to declare he is usually a resident in the US rather than Britain.

Prince Harry founded Travalyst, a global coalition of some of the biggest names in travel, in 2019, one year before he relocated to the US with his wife Meghan Markle.

Harry chose the date the day he and Meghan left Frogmore Cottage as the date his formal US residency began.

The date of his change to US residency is listed as 29/06/2023.

The couple cleared out all of their belongings and handed back the keys to the property by July 2023.

Royal commentator Phil Dampier told The Sun regarding Harry's move: "As always with Harry a lot can be read into his actions.

"Being ousted from Frogmore Cottage wounded him deeply. Now he’s shown he accepts his life is in the US."

Prince Harry last visited the UK in February 2024 following King Charles's cancer diagnosis.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to return to the UK in May 2024 but it is unclear if Meghan and his children will join him.

The Duchess of Sussex, Archie and Lilibet did not travel to the UK in 2023 despite Harry making several trips to London.
