Meta-owned app's new option is set improve user experience
WhatsApp is set to introduce status notifications feature in its upcoming update for the version 2.24.8.13, through the Google Play Beta programme.
The Meta-owned app is currently including this feature in order to refine for inclusion in a future version of the app, according to NewsBytes.
This development is based on a recent functionality added in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.6.19, that lets users get notifications for mentions in status updates.
The recently introduced status notifications feature is set to be expanded by the upcoming WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.8.13.
Users will be enabled to receive alerts for unseen status updates from their contacts, adding another layer of engagement within the app.
In this manner, users will be notified whenever their contacts share new status updates that they haven't viewed yet, keeping them informed and connected with their network's activities.
However, there are some uncertainties regarding the exact conditions that will trigger these new status notifications in WhatsApp.
