The Academy honoured Deepika Padukone by sharing 'Bajirao Mastani' song

Deepika Padukone recently featured on The Academy's official Instagram page, leaving her fans and husband-actor Ranveer Singh excited.

The Bollywood diva's mesmerising song, Deewani Mastani, from her hit film, Bajirao Mastani, was featured on The Oscars' official Instagram page on April 4, Thursday.

Deepika was featured as Mastani in the critically acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2015 project, also starring Ranveer and Priyanka Chopra.

The Academy shared a clip of the Pathaan actress's magical dance performance from the song.

The caption of the shared post read, “Deepika Padukone performing Deewani Mastani (sung by Shreya Ghoshal) from the movie Bajirao Mastani."

As the post went viral on social media, Deepika's fans and her husband showered love for their favourite artist in the comments section.

Ranveer, who often showered praise on his better half on social media, wrote, "Mesmeric."

One fan wrote, "About time The Academy recognised this cinematic masterpiece."

Another fan chimed in, "The beauty of Deepika in this song, I don't think any other would actress would be able to pull this off like her."
