After weeks of media frenzy and looming court hearing, finally some good news has emerged for Donald Trump as he has become one of the richest people in the world with a net worth of $6.4 billion, NDTV reported.
On Monday, a New York court handed the former president a lifeline by reducing his bond in the civil fraud case from $464 million to $175 million.
Meanwhile, his social media company, Trump Media and Technology Group, on Monday successfully signed a merger deal, increasing his net worth by $4 billion and making him one of the richest person in the world.
In a statement, his son and the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization said, "We have a great company and are incredibly honoured."
The Republican presidential candidate, is facing a civil fraud lawsuit which claims that he and his sons — Donald Jr and Eric — and two of his executives, overvalued their wealth for more than decade to appear likable to banks and investors for loans.
He was given Monday’s deadline to pay a bond of $464 million. New York Attorney General Letitia James had signalled that if Trump fails to pay, his properties would be seized.
Trumps real estate empire consists of golf courses in Florida and Scotland, iconic buildings such as the Trump tower and 40 Wall street.
