An Indian woman went to Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place, New Delhi, with her friend for lunch and ordered a basic dosa but were shocked to find several black dots on it, which turned out to be cockroaches.
Ishani, the woman, asked her friend to take a video of the dosa that was infested with cockroaches. However, before they could complete the recording, a staff member arrived and removed the plate. Ishani then lodged a police report and a grievance against the eatery. The cops promised her that they would look into the situation.
The video depicts eight dead cockroaches — not just one or two — in the dosa that Ishani and her friend were given at Madras Coffee House.
She told The Quint, “This incident has left a bad taste in my mouth and raised lots of questions in my head about the licence and operation of this cafe. I will always be apprehensive about ordering food at any restaurant now. I will always wonder if their level of hygiene is maintained. Do the authorities regularly visit the restaurants to check their hygiene level and licences? Because if they do, then such incidents would not happen.”
