WhatsApp introduces new feature to identify end-to-end encrypted chats

WhatsApp, the Meta-owned social messaging platform, is releasing a new feature to indicate when chats are end-to-end encrypted.
According to WaBetaInfo, the messaging app is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.24.6.11.
This feature is currently available to some beta testers, and it is rolling out to more users over the coming weeks, it added.
The feature is designed to make it easier for users to understand which chats are end-to-end encrypted, providing users with a convenience knowing that their conversations are securely encrypted.
A new caption to identify end-to-end encrypted chats is available under the contact and group name within the conversations.
With this enhancement, users are always aware when their chats are securely encrypted using the signal protocol, serving as a visual confirmation that nobody can read their messages and listen to their calls.
It is pertinent to mention here that this caption disappears after a few seconds so the last seen info can appear.
