Bilal Ilyas Jhandir, a 20-year-old Pakistani guy has broken the Guinness World Record (GWR), to become the world's biggest admirer of Talyor Swift.
In less than a minute, Bilal, who describes himself as a "die-hard fan" of the pop sensation, broke a new record by correctly identifying the lyrics to most Taylor Swift songs, according to NDTV.
He beat the previous record of 27 songs, set by UK's Dan Simpson in 2019, by accurately naming a total of 34 songs.
"From my early years, Taylor Swift has been a part of my music library," he said.
According to GWR, the 20-year-old declared: "I am a die-hard fan of her."
Recognising songs from a randomly selected list of Swift's 50 best-selling tracks was the task. In the submission video, Bilal covered his eyes with an eye mask to avoid being accused of snooping around.
He had to identify every song by listening to the first few lines read out by a person, without any music playing in the background.
"Here's Bilal Ilyas Jhandir and his super knowledge of Taylor Swift lyrics which allowed him to set his record for most Swift songs identified by their lyrics in one minute," GWR wrote on X while sharing the clip.
The 20-year-old practiced for 13 weeks leading up to the formal test, according to the official website. He claims that as a result of these "long listening sessions," the songs became so embedded in his memory that he frequently recited the words out loud to himself while he slept. "I have heard every single song that she has released. From the lyrics, I can recognise practically every song of hers," he said.
As he felt it was the "best way on Earth" to show his "extraordinary love" for Taylor Swift, Bilal Ilyas Jhandir made the decision to smash this record. He claimed that the record attempt was "an easy task," however he acknowledged that it was more challenging because a man rather than Taylor Swift sang the songs.
