If you are heartbroken this Valentine’s day, name a litter box after your ex. Here’s how
US zoos offer unique "Name a Roach" or "Cry Me a Cockroach" services
Valentine's Day is approaching, but for some people, the day is spent thinking about their ex rather than experiencing warm and fuzzy thoughts of love. If you belong to such a group, you may now celebrate the day by dedicating a cockroach or a rat to your ex-partner.
Zoos in Texas and New York are selling unusual presents that will make you feel lighter.
Those bitten by the love bug are invited by the Bronx Zoo to name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after their significant other.
As part of the "Name a Roach" programme offered by the Bronx Zoo, you may give your ex a tote bag or tumbler with an image of a cockroach, telling them you have one named after them.
While, on the other hand, the San Antonio Zoo caters to those with less affectionate memories of past relationships.
As for San Antonio Zoo, through their "Cry Me a Cockroach" fundraiser, individuals can name a cockroach, rat, or vegetable after an ex-lover.
Once named, these creatures are then fed to one of the zoo's animals, symbolically helping donors move on from heartbreak.
The Hippo-Love Candle is another unique Valentine's Day gift from the San Antonio Zoo. Inspired by Timothy, the male hippo at the zoo, it is infused with the scent of hippo poop and is designed to resemble the way hippopotamuses naturally entice partners. This present, made by the Stinky Candle Company, is sure to be both memorable and one-of-a-kind.
Berkeley Animal Centre in South Carolina is also offering another unique, opportunity to get your ex’s name written on a litter box.
At the El Paso Zoo, the cockroaches you name after your exes will be fed to animals at the zoo, like iguanas, skinks, and meerkats.
