But there that was. Hundreds of priceless memes flooded the internet as the lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey took place.
As scores of eagled-eyed netizens equipped with tons of wit made the formal occasion sweeped with various memes at the expense of the royal.
Soon as the ceremony kicked in, the memes competition went into overdrive.
