According to the charity's statement, this year's award was given to Shannon, who, "inspired by challenges he witnessed during his military service, is tackling water scarcity and plastic waste through his sustainable, on-site water solutions.

The statement said, "Through the Enterprise Accelerator programme, delivered by Kings Trust Australia, Shannon developed the strategy and commercial skills to bring his idea to life. His business, Aqua Ubique creates clean drinking water from air, reducing reliance on bottled water while improving access in remote communities."

It said, "His model also ensures that for every five commercial units installed, one is donated to a First Nations community, combining environmental impact with social good."
