Islamabad
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has further intensified ongoing drive against adulterated and substandard food items, the DC Office said.
Food Department, Islamabad, conducted inspection of 235 food outlets during last 15 days and submitted challans against owners 53 hotels and bakeries for failing to comply with hygiene and sanitation rules and issued 89 notices to the defaulters. As many as 4 premises were partially sealed for poor sanitary conditions, while 120 utensils found unhygienic confiscated and destroyed.
During inspection, sanitary teams destroyed 15 litres sub-standard mineral water and 35kg cooked food items and 31 samples of food items sent to the laboratory for testing.
District Health Department Islamabad also conducted inspection of 26 medical stores from August 5 to 18 and sent 16 samples of drugs to the laboratory for testing and sealed a medical store for violations of Drug Act, 1976 and seized stock on account of misbranding, unregistered, spurious/ sub-standard drugs.
