Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage is under ‘strain’, the royal insiders have claimed and it is not because of a lack of love.
The royal sources told the Closer, the California-based royal couple, who moved to US back in 2020 after stepping down as senior royals, have been clashing over a potential return to the UK, which is said to be causing tension.
The close confidant said Meghan and Harry’s “marriage is under strain — not because of a lack of love, but because of opposing fears.”
“Harry is begging to come home. He talks about the UK constantly. He knows his father is ill and he feels time slipping away. For him, 2026 feels urgent.”
However, “Meghan associates the UK with unhappiness, fear and anxiety.”
The royal insider said Meghan is equally ‘determined’ not to be rushed back into a country she associates with pain, scrutiny and unfinished business.
“She doesn’t want to put herself back in that place and feels cross that it’s back on the table,” the mole added.
The fresh claims came two days after Meghan’s father Thomas Markle issued a major health update following surgery.
Mr Markle said: "I have much to celebrate. I am doing well and would like to thank all the people from around the world who have sent well-wishes.
“I'm doing physiotherapy every day and have managed to sit on the side of the bed and even stood on my one remaining leg with the help of a nurse and a walking frame.”
